Automated Containment Device – Telemetry & Control Panel Explained

Environmental Innovations are a leading UK manufacturer of automated water pollution & firewater containment devices.  We offer a range of upgrade options and accessories for our pollution containment devices or drain closure valves to give our clients the ultimate flexibility and the most suitable and efficient products and service possible.

The Flapstopper’s control panel is designed to accept simple volt-free contact switched inputs for activation and will conversely output its status via volt-free contacts too. The output is 100% isolated and capable of interfacing with 12V, 24V, or 48V BMS systems.  Alternatively, should the control panel be located a distance away from the BMS station, our sister company Radio Data Networks can provide simple-to-use and cost-effective radio links that bring the BMS inputs and outputs to the control panel.

Many mistakenly think or are mis-sold the concept of GSM SMS text alerts.  However, passes a management issue to the site owner, which can result in workers getting calls out of hours, ex-employees receiving messages, and no messages received at all.  We believe in providing a BMS (Building Management System) interface as the 1st point of call.  The BMS system should then send the SMS as this is more than likely to be up to date and not forgotten.

Each control panel comes as standard, including a PCB supplied with 10m long coils of 6mm diameter air hose, air compressor, air direction valve manifold with a pressure gauge and a battery backup with local push buttons.

Additional options include a solar panel or mains power supply, battery float charger, remote telemetry for activation and reporting, remote activation push buttons (call points), sensors for local activation, and our Sentinel365 data platform where you can monitor your pollution control valve remotely via desktop or a mobile app.
